One of the loved toons from the Amar Chitra Katha (ACK) comics’ series, Suppandi, is set to jump out from comic strips to the silver screen. ACK Media is producing a stereoscopic three-dimensional animation film, with Suppandi as the main character. The film would hit cinema halls in November 2010.
Suppandi is one of India's most beloved characters and is a part of every Indian's childhood. Its the character with the goof, whose antics leave his bosses bothered and bewildered. If our favourite Tinkle character Suppandi were to don a Bollywood avatar, who do you think would fit the bill? Ranbir Kapoor, perhaps? Animation and VFX veteran Biju D, who is all set to direct a stereoscopic 3D animation on Suppandi, disagrees. “The work doesn’t end at finishing the voice-over for Suppandi,” Biju says. “The character would demand a lot more. Bollywood stars may not be able to give me that kind of time.”

City-based ACK Media has announced its new venture to make the first stereoscopic 3D animated film based on the misadventures of Suppandi.
